Review for Metspace Office (17 Gosfield Street).
We moved into a Metspace office as clincians, attracted by the sales team's assurances that the offices were private and dedicated to professionals like us. Initially, this seemed true. However, as more rooms were occupied, we observed particular tenants using shared waiting areas and corridors for phone calls and meetings, disrupting the privacy we required. Some tenants also left their doors open, creating an environment where conversations were easily overheard—both theirs and ours.
We raised these concerns multiple times with Lauren and Ben, but they dismissed our feedback, and the disruptive behaviours continued. Unfortunately, the lack of privacy began affecting our clients and our business, forcing us to make the difficult decision to leave.
Upon moving out in November, we were informed that our deposit would take up to 60 days to process, per the terms and conditions. After waiting five weeks, we reached out for an update. We emailed Ben but received no response. A week later, we called the office and spoke with Lauren, who assured us she would follow up with accounts and get back to us by the end of the day. However, no update was provided, so we called again the next day.
Ben eventually returned our call, but his tone was confrontational and aggressive. He accused us of calling "every day," which was untrue as we had only followed up after 5 weeks of waiting. He further claimed I was “rude,” despite my professional and polite demeanor throughout the entire process, even when addressing our disappointment with how privacy issues had been handled.
When I mentioned leaving feedback on their customer service which had been terrible, Ben shifted the conversation to irrelevant topics, such as asking about the “How was the IT services” and "download speeds" and stating that they “monitor all their clients' internet usage.” This was confusing and concerning for me as a mental health clinician as my patients data are at risk of being compromised, especially since this monitoring was never disclosed in the terms and conditions. It appeared to be a scare tactic, possibly intended to discourage us from pursuing our deposit or leaving this review.
The privacy issues and the handling of our deposit were disappointing, but the retaliatory and unprofessional behaviour from Ben was particularly troubling.
We are now seeking clarification from Metspace’s management which have not responded to our concerns at all and have been forced to take legal advise and report our concerns to the ICO for further investigation.
If you are considering Metspace for office space, please take the above into account, along with other recent reviews. While we had initially intended to move on after leaving, the threats and unprofessionalism we experienced warranted a formal complaint and this feedback.
