You simply have to be aware that you're paying for the Harry Potter experience here. And accordingly, you can't compare the prices to other hotel rooms. The atmosphere is great, but you also have to accept a few things, like a sink that's one of the smallest I've ever seen. A window that doesn't lock, but there is a screen on it. Regardless, the breakfast was outstanding.

I had a great stay! The room wasn't exactly what was shown in the website photo (I suppose I just got a different room) but it was nice and comfortable. Staff was friendly and helpful, and the complimentary bag drop service was great as I was able to walk around and do some sightseeing free of my luggage. I highly recommend booking on their website directly, because their breakfast is really nice! Lots of options to choose from and the brioche french toast was stellar. The location is great, a very short walk from Victoria station but you can also walk from a couple other metro stations. There's a sainsburys pretty close, too, which is super useful. The only thing I'd suggest is to buy your own bottled water. They have a jug of water in the room but the tap water in London honestly tastes so bad.

This review is for the Wizard Afternoon Tea. Overall the experience was underwhelming. They did not accommodate our adult no mayo request even though the request was made a month in advanced. They emailed me ahead and asked for more details but were not specific in their communication. I don’t understand how no mayo is not enough information. On the day of the server did not check with us after serving us and we never confirmed that we were happy with the food. They still served us mayo after we said no mayo. We were completely ignored after being served until we paid and left. For caring about allergies as much as they do they don’t seem to listen or follow through on requests. Next time they should specifically ask if someone can have raw egg or not and or accept that someone cannot have mayo. All ingredients should be listed too. We asked our server what was in coronation chicken and she could not tell us. I really ought to ask for a refund. Overall it was too much food , 1/4 was wasted especially since we said no mayo and after presenting us the food we were ignored. Pay for what you get. Almost left with the wizard hats they placed at our seats but noticed a sign when leaving that they would be 3 pounds each. No one warned us of this. Glad I saw the sign and that I’m deaf not blind because there was no transparency. I also just found out the 10% discretionary service fee is optional because of another review but when I was there they told me this was a mandatory charge. Unbelievable how overpriced and unenjoyable this experience was.

Okay so I have mixed feelings about this hotel, this is gonna be a long one: First the hotel/room itself: We were in the Enchanted Chamber, the hotel itself and the room were fine, I liked the decor - I think you should really only book it if youre a true harry potter fan, maybe in a bigger room for a family. However our room was in true Harry Potter fashion: kind of the size of a closet under some stairs :) I normally really dont mind a smaller room, but this was kind of crazy. If you had a normal sized suitcase it would not have fit into this room, i cant imagine how you could open or unpack it. And even for a couple, the bed was pretty tight. I didnt even discover the bathroom at first, and you have to really like each other in there because you hear absolutely everything. The cool thing: the shower was nice, seemed really new, with like a rain shower up top. Breakfast: absolutely horrible. We have never felt this unwelcome. The staff at check in and everything was really kind, but the staff at breakfast was just rude. I didnt understand one of the servers when she yelled "table for 2?" Across the room as I am not a native speaker, and she then wouldnt talk to us again? We just sat down at a table near the kitchen and were fully ignored for like 20 minutes or so. We grabbed some menues ourselves to look into. Servers walked straight past us. I tried ask another employee about the breakfast options as no one explained anything to us, she just handed me a different menu and walked away again, then we were ignored again. The servers then went over to a family that had sat down some minutes after us, started talking to them and serving them. We felt incredibly uncomfortable and then figured it probably had something to do with the servers having a bad day and/or straight up prefering british people and being discriminating. (Absolutely insane behaviour in a hotel) We have not eaten breakfast at the hotel once then, even thought it would have been included. We also have booked the wizard potions experience - so my issue with this is that the marketing/website completely messed this up. This was all cute generally, the employees were really nice and took the time to explain everything, but we were under the impression that this was more of a "cocktail class" as I think the information available online is misleading or at the least not explained and marketed correctly. You get handed instructions and then you kind of mix two cocktails by yourself. This in itself was okay, fine, maybe we didnt read the fine print through enough. But: this is a potions/cocktail experience involving alcohol, very clearly for adults. We were already a bit confused beforehand at the starting time being 5 PM as you would do something like this later in the evening. However, when we showed up the room was filled with children/families. They had their "afternoon tea" at the same time, obviously so the hotel could save money on staff. Made it all feel cheap. The most annoying thing by far about this was that WE were now the entertainment for all of the children running around in the room. Because we were doing those potions, multiple children stood and leaned ON TOP our table and stared and would not leave. This is partially the parents fault, but honestly mainly a really badly planned experience. Anyone ever having done any event planning in their life could have seen this issue from miles away - and if you dont have the money or staff to do this well, maybe you shouldnt do it. This could actually be something really special: do a cocktail class later in the evening, only confirm it if there is enough attendees, make it kind of a party. And absolutely make it seperately from a family afternoon tea experience, i think that should have been obvious from the very start. Maybe this feedback will actually help and change something, because all in all the hotel is super cute, the decor is well done, and the ideas behind all of it could be great, they just need to be executed better!
