We joined Level39 in Canary Wharf after initially being told that, as members, we would be able to book hot desks in advance. This was one of the main reasons we decided to take out memberships, particularly at around £440 per person. After joining, we found that hot desks could only be booked around an hour beforehand. We accepted this and started using the booking system as intended. However, in our experience, the booking system doesn't seem to be consistently followed or enforced. We've booked specific desks and arrived to find someone else using them or belongings left on them. When we've raised this with reception, we've been told the space operates on a "first come, first served" basis. This has left us confused about the purpose of booking a desk, as we've sometimes then had to find another available space. Cleanliness has also been disappointing. We've arrived to find bottles, cans and other items still sitting on desks from the previous day. At this membership price, we'd expect the hot-desk areas to be cleared and ready for members each morning. We've experienced similar issues with the meeting booths, where belongings can be left inside even when the person isn't using the booth. Resolving this generally means speaking with reception. We feel the shared working areas would benefit from more proactive management. We've also raised concerns about how visitor and day-pass access is managed. From what we've personally observed, we feel clearer controls around access to member facilities would help ensure the space works fairly for paying members. We deliberately started with only a few memberships because we wanted to experience Level39 before potentially bringing the rest of our team across. Unfortunately, based on our experience so far, we've decided not to expand our membership. The location and facilities have a lot of potential, which is why it's disappointing. At this price point, we'd expect desk bookings to be consistently respected, workspaces to be clean and shared areas to be more actively managed.
