Paying to work in the noisy breakfast room of a hotel (without breakfast and without sockets) I didn't understand the concept

I reserved a meeting room. The reservation was booked in the hotel system. However, it was impossible to access it because it was occupied by other people who made the reservation directly with the hotel manager. I was debited without return of reimbursement... Deplorable experience.
