My parents bought an edition of Proust's Recherches with the assurance that the publisher would take the books back at the original price (which convinced them to make the investment). My father wrote to the publisher three months ago to request this repurchase: no response. How can you trust a publisher who doesn't honor their promises? Furthermore, the edition is minimal; it contains no notes, commentaries, or any critical analysis. It's simply meant to look elegant and "old-fashioned." I don't recommend these editions. For the price, it's better to get the Pléiades, which have done real editorial work.

I purchased several collections from this publisher in the 2000s, and they provided a written guarantee that they could be returned at any time at the original price. I tried to have them returned with proof of purchase, and was told: "The offer is void and revoked." I am shocked by this dishonesty on the part of this publisher, who has thus committed false advertising. This is a huge disappointment and demonstrates a lack of professionalism. Failing to respect the terms of a contract is unworthy of a retailer long known for the quality of its products. I hope they will reconsider their position and finally take responsibility for the content of their offers.
