We booked a private room seeking a quiet space for a live conversation hosted by a non-profit organization. Before we began, a staff member from the center validated the activity, helped us choose the space, and even suggested how to use the whiteboard as a backdrop. Minutes later, another member of the team informed us that the activity was prohibited and required prior authorization, something that wasn't mentioned at any point, neither during the booking process nor in the visible terms of use. Upon hearing this, we left the room without causing any conflict. The problem isn't the existence of rules, but rather the complete lack of internal consistency and clear communication: it's unacceptable for an activity to be authorized by one staff member and then subsequently revoked by another, citing nonexistent requirements for the user. A confusing and poorly managed experience, unbecoming of a space that presents itself as professional and community-oriented. A shame, because the concept is good, but the execution leaves much to be desired.
