I was just surprised to see that I haven't written a review of this place, because we go often for its food which is very good, for the very close and friendly service (it's like your nephew is serving you) and for the place which is quite comfortable. From time to time they hold concerts and events. 200x100 recommended. It's not a luxury restaurant by any means and the menu is not very extensive. But everything they have is very good and made with 'carinyu' It's also very good for a beer and some tapas.

The Cafè de Mar is a historic place in Mataró. Since the beginning (1930 and before) it has operated as a cooperative. During the Franco regime it remained closed, but it has been recovered and is now run by a cooperative. Some nights there are musical groups or other types of cultural performances. We have always gone there in the evening and have eaten sandwiches, there are many and varied, hot and cold, for everyone's tastes. The quality is good, they don't put just any bread on you. But if you want there are other things to eat. The place is clean, the atmosphere is good, and sometimes you have to book because it fills up quickly.
