I went in to the Staples Studio to use the Phone Booth for an interview. It was a good experience. Unfortunately, I was a bit rushed because I was taking care of this during my lunch hour. I met Oksana who was VERY helpful even though I probably seemed so frazzled. Thank you Oksana! She gave me some water (which I desperately needed at the time). I used the phone booth room just because it was only me but I will definitely use one of their offices or cubicles next time I need to get focus on just work for a few hours.

I had a very disappointing experience at this location today. I placed a same-day pickup order for business cards online, but I never received an email confirming that it was ready. One hour before closing, I went to the store to check on the status, only to be told that the machines had been broken since yesterday. If the machines were already down, my order should not have been accepted or at the very least, I should have been notified so I could place the order at a different location. It is unprofessional to use a previously known issue as an explanation, especially for a same-day service where timing is critical. The lack of communication was irresponsible and caused unnecessary inconvenience. As a result, I now have to redo everything at the last minute, which has caused me a lot of unnecessary stress.

Absolutely terrible onboarding guides. There is no singular or unified guide to get access to the studio - you have to find this out piecemeal through various sites and emails they send you. You need at least two apps - Staples Studio and a Keychain app in order to access the facilities. Both apps need to be linked together, except the app/site to do so is broken once you fill in the relevant info. This means you can never complete the linking process and therefore no way to use your phone as a digital key to access the studio. There are no employees onsite, and the adjacent Staples business staff are largely unaware of the co-op studio. Phoned a manager to the location and did not hear back. Wasted my money on a day pass. Avoid at all costs!

Great space. Bright, clean rooms with enough other bodies that you don't feel isolated, but enough quiet that you can work. Free coffee and tea for members, huge fridge, microwaves, clean and stocked washrooms, all in a convenient location with plenty of lunch options around (or just put your stuff in the fridge!). Best of all is the Community Consultant who manages the space. Oksana is super accommodating, helpful, and overall cheerful and friendly, which is a big part of what sold me on this as my choice in coworking spaces.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Most coworking space amenities are open to all members, regardless of the membership plan. Meeting rooms require prior reservation, and private offices are exclusively available to those with subscription packages. However, the lounge, kitchen, and breakout spaces are open to everyone. Complimentary amenities are also available to all, while ancillary services can be purchased or negotiated individually with Staples Studio.

  • Absolutely. Flexibility is one of the best parts of coworking. Most coworking memberships are month-to-month, so you can quickly adjust your space preferences according to your unique requirements and the size of your team. Whether that means upgrading the space or downsizing it or even completely changing the type of coworking subscription that you use, you always have the option to adjust as you go.

It may be possible to adjust your membership before current membership ends, but you will have to discuss and negotiate directly with Staples Studio, who is more than happy to help out.

  • While storage in coworking spaces is generally limited, and mostly reserved for members with dedicated desks or private offices, you should always check with the coworking operator about additional storage solutions. Fill out the form on the right side of the page to reach out to them and learn all about the available options.

  • Yes, you can certainly take a tour of the space before signing up for a membership. In fact, it’s encouraged, to help you get a feel for what your workday will look like. Reach out here to set up a time to come and see the space.

  • Staples Studio - Toronto Midtown operates during regular business hours, as indicated above. For access outside of these hours, please contact the operator directly to inquire about any available options.
