Disgusting and filthy location. It's common to find coffee/food on tables and cubicle walls, hair everywhere, dirty floors, sink filled with dirty dishes, dirty washrooms, etc... Out of all the co-working spaces I have been to, this is the worst. Very mismanaged and zero regard for the people who pay to use this space. I would give it 0/5 stars if I could. Some photos below of what to expect when you come in to work:

I recently signed up for an Office accommodation agreement with Spaces Works, expecting a seamless and professional experience. Unfortunately, my experience fell far short of expectations. On the agreed start date, I visited the center during business hours but was unable to access the Office accommodation because no staff were available to issue my key fob. This prevented me from using the service I had paid for, despite the agreement including 24-hour access as a key feature. When I contacted their phone support to report the issue, it was not resolved that day, leaving me unable to use the facility as intended. While the staff eventually resolved the issue the following day, the initial failure to provide access on the start date was a significant inconvenience. Additionally, the company has refused to acknowledge their breach of contract or provide a satisfactory resolution, including refusing to honor my cancellation request without penalty. Would not recommend!

Terrible Experience with Hidden Fees and Overcharges. I had an extremely disappointing experience with Spaces. Despite advertising one price online, the regional manager quoted me double that amount and then increased the quote by 15% after a single business day. I was also charged a $600 "office restoration fee" buried in the fine print of the “house rules” (not the financial agreement)—this was despite explicitly asking the “community manager” for the work not to be done (which was actually “restoring” the office from the previous user), as I’d decided to move out after just the one month and the smell of a fresh coat of paint and soggy carpets would interfere with my use of the space. Additional charged for IT services, including $50 for "premium internet" that couldn’t even deliver 10mbps download speeds most of the day. Cell signal is even worse. This lack of transparency and value is unacceptable. If you’re considering Spaces, be prepared for hidden fees, slow internet, and price hikes. They missed the mark on “community,” more of a soulless corporation. Avoid at all costs! (Photo shows the condition of the office I was subsequently charged $600 to “restore”)

Large space, mainly empty. Although they will claim it is "busy" to upsell you on a private office. Coffee bar not operational. Worked there for a week, and there was daily drilling/ construction noise, but no notice that such work was being performed. The only notice you might get is for dishes being left in the sink, which are actually left behind by cleaning staff. They'll even put in the extra effort and post signage. Think of this "Space" as a bad employee. You pay them to make your life easier, but they actually make it more difficult. Oh, and read the fine print for surprise clauses like unwanted renovations of carpets and paint (EMF paint to block your cell signals so they can upsell you some more on things they can't deliver on) at your own expense. Last thing, Starbucks guest wifi is faster. Stay away.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Absolutely. Flexibility is one of the best parts of coworking. Most coworking memberships are month-to-month, so you can quickly adjust your space preferences according to your unique requirements and the size of your team. Whether that means upgrading the space or downsizing it or even completely changing the type of coworking subscription that you use, you always have the option to adjust as you go.

It may be possible to adjust your membership before current membership ends, but you will have to discuss and negotiate directly with Spaces, who is more than happy to help out.

  • At Spaces - Toronto - Spaces Gladstone, Private Offices and Dedicated Desks can be booked on a monthly basis.

  • Open desks may be the ideal choice if you thrive in a collaborative environment and value the opportunity to connect with fellow coworkers. Dedicated desks, on the other hand, provide a designated space with shared community amenities, catering to those who seek a balance between privacy and interaction.

For ultimate focus and private interactions, private offices are best for solo individuals and teams that seek uninterrupted productivity.

Selecting the most suitable workspace for you typically hinges on your work style and preferences, but it can also be determined by the type of work that you do, its duration, and whether you work alone or in a team.

  • Yes, you can certainly take a tour of the space before signing up for a membership. In fact, it’s encouraged, to help you get a feel for what your workday will look like. Schedule a tour here by filling out the form along with the date and time when you would like to visit the space and we’ll see you there.

  • Most coworking space amenities are open to all members, regardless of the membership plan. Meeting rooms require prior reservation, and private offices are exclusively available to those with subscription packages. However, the lounge, kitchen, and breakout spaces are open to everyone. Complimentary amenities are also available to all, while ancillary services can be purchased or negotiated individually with Spaces.
