It is okay... Nothing exciting

I recently spent a day at Workhaus Commerce Court, located at 30 Wellington St W, Toronto, and while there were positives, there’s room for improvement, especially for those considering a day pass. On the upside, the coffee was great, and the access to phone booths for meetings was a convenient touch, especially appreciated given the quick access from Union Station. This made it easy to get to and provided a good spot for short-term work needs. However, there are a few areas that could enhance the experience for day pass users like myself, who paid $39.55 for the day. Firstly, the WiFi connectivity was less than ideal as day pass users are relegated to guest WiFi, which can be a significant drawback for those needing reliable internet. Additionally, the policy of not allowing guests could be restrictive for those hoping to have meetings on-site. The workspace provided in the lounge area also did not meet expectations; it lacked proper desks and chairs, which are fundamental for a comfortable full-day work session. This was quite a departure from the office images presented online, leading to some disappointment. In summary, Workhaus Commerce Court has the potential to be a fantastic coworking space with its excellent location and amenities like good coffee and phone booths. However, to better cater to the needs of day pass users, improvements in WiFi quality, workspace furniture, and flexibility in guest policies would be highly beneficial.
Whether you're a day pass holder or a monthly member, you can access most amenities. Meeting rooms do require prior scheduling, and private offices are reserved for those with subscriptions. However, the lounge, kitchen, and breakout spaces are open to all. Complimentary services are also available regardless of membership tier, while ancillary services can be purchased separately or negotiated with Workhaus.
Adaptability is at the core of coworking, so membership options are always designed to cater to your changing work requirements and team dynamics. Most spaces offer month-to-month memberships, enabling you to adjust your workspace to your changing needs. Whether your business is growing or downsizing – or you just want to upgrade to a more private setting – you always have the flexibility to make the changes you need.
While your membership agreement may have specific terms regarding changes, don’t hesitate to reach out to Workhaus to discuss accommodating your adjustments.
Coworking spaces typically have limited storage options, most of which are reserved for members with dedicated desks or private offices. With that said, it’s best to contact the coworking operator directly via the form on the right side of the page to learn about available storage options.
For spontaneous collaboration and interaction, open desks provide an open and flexible environment. If you prefer a dedicated space with shared community elements, dedicated desks offer a great balance between personal space and interaction.
On the other hand, private offices are best suited for focused work and private interactions. They're ideal for solo workers as well as teams seeking a dedicated space, shielded from distractions.
Choosing the ideal coworking arrangement for you is about aligning your workspace with your work style, team dynamics, and project requirements.
