Lyn Designs - 1435 40 Avenue

To provide context to our review, we did extensive work on two levels in our home including the entire kitchen with a new layout requiring moving air vents, electricals and water pipes, new custom entryways storage, gut renovation of a powder room and our ensuite bathroom/walk-in closet which also required a new layout, refinished hardwood floors, added millwork to an office and the living room, repainted all rooms on two levels and sprinkled some wainscotting in the bedrooms. This process is not for the faint of heart, and with grand ideas come costs and time but this is something Neil was upfront with from the beginning and helped us maneuver throughout the project. Despite the scope of the project, we only had occasional hiccups with the work completed and when we did, it was addressed quickly and too our satisfaction (both during and after the project). For example, some of the painting work completed by a subcontractor LD&A newly started to collaborate with was not initially up our standards and required multiple revisions until both us and LD&A were satisfied with the quality of the work completed. No major renovation goes without issues – what you need is a team that can identify and address those quickly and ensure the quality of the work completed, like LD&A. Everyone from the LD&A team who participated in the renovations was professional and skilled, and the team’s cohesiveness made the transition between each step of the process as seamless as a “near gut renovation” can be. While we are thankful for the entire team, we do want to highlight the work of some members who made this experience even more special. Jenna, the design wizard, ran with every idea, long email (and there were many…) and Pinterest board to make our vision come to life, with an undeterrable enthusiasm. Tyler is a man of many talents. He worked around the house on seemingly everything and took the time to show us the progress and guide us through the steps to come which we always appreciated. Tobias’s craftsmanship also deserves a mention. We included A LOT of millwork throughout the house and the quality of the many custom pieces he built is simply outstanding. Now that the dust has settled (literally and figuratively) we can confidently say that LD&A was able to turn a house we already loved very much, into a home we see ourselves make memories in for many years to come. LD&A previously did a wonderful job on our basement suite so when it came time to renovate the main floor of my family home I knew who to call. Everything was beautiful, everyone was professional, communication was fantastic and everything was on time and on budget other than changes I personally asked for throughout the process. We hired LD&A to complete a full gut and renovation of our home beginning the summer of 2023. It was a massive undertaking, taking over a year to complete. Throughout the process, we were very pleased with the level of communication between the LD&A team and ourselves - from daily logs detailing what had been accomplished on the project each day, to monthly meetings with Neil to recap budgets and next steps, to many phone calls and emails in between. We thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the team. Neil was just as invested as we were in creating our dream home. We felt he was very fair and honest in his approach and he had our back when any issues arose, dealing with them swiftly to get us back on track. Lindsey was very helpful with making design choices and executing our vision (and extremely patient with our ever-changing vision!). Daryl, Brent, Shane, Tyler and Travis were all lovely to work with and their attention to detail shows in the final product. Everyone from the LD&A team and trades alike were friendly, hard working and clearly took pride in their work. We are thrilled with our renovated home and would recommend LD&A to anyone.
