I liked the coworking space well enough but wasn't using it enough to justify the (increasing) cost. I had a really negative experience when I went to cancel. I tried to give polite notice 30 days in advance, as required in my contract. Unfortunately, WN unilaterally attempted to make changes to the cancellation terms, extending the notice period from one month to three without seeking the specific consent of members to adjust this very material term, and charging me additional cancellation fees over and above what my contract had outlined. It seemed clear to me that this was a violation of Alberta consumer and contract law. I tried very hard to resolve this amicably, giving WN the benefit of the doubt, but am disappointed to find that I was unable to do so. They insisted they had properly notified me of the contract change (they hadn't) and refused to refund the charges. If you go to cancel, please know that if your membership predates ~summer 2024, they will try to impose terms that are different to those in the contract you signed. Even if you log into your portal and look at your signed 'Contract' today, again, those are not the terms they'll try to hold you to. Update: I ended up pursuing this via the Alberta Court of Justice, which ruled in my favour. At no point did WN provide evidence that they had attempted to notify me about the contract term change. You can look up the judgment if helpful. I hope and suspect WN will use proper notifications in the future as a result. Stay on top of your emails and the contract fine print if you are a customer, and familiarize yourself with your rights if they try to impose additional unexpected fees. IMHO this was definitely *not* entrepreneur/small-business friendly conduct, despite all their marketing.

I think they'll reply to this review saying that they rolled out these adjusted T&Cs legally and that this is "like a gym membership," but this is not true. This type of agreement is indeed a contract, and is governed by Alberta consumer law (as are gym memberships). Even sections 24 (Updates to Terms of Use) and 25 (Notices) of their own contract don't allow for them to update substantive terms like cancellation periods via a mass Slack message that is no longer visible to anyone, and didn’t explain the change in the first place. I wish them the best of luck and hope that they update this term in a legal and transparent way for other members of the community going forward.

The guys at Work Nicer Railyards is exactly what you need when you’re in town and need a functional, membership-based coworking space that actually works the way it’s supposed to. they went over and above to take care of me. thier Membership gives you flexible access to hot desks, dedicated desks, private offices, meeting spaces, and community areas with no leases or lock-ins — you just show up, plug in, and get to work. Unlimited access and included meeting room time make short-notice use painless. The Wi-Fi and tech infrastructure are solid — strong, reliable internet and printing/scanning are available without hiccups. Staff were very accommodating on very short notice and got me set up quickly. Everything from the workspace itself to the support tech works smoothly. I couldn’t be happier with the experience and highly recommend them for anyone needing a professional, hassle-free place to work.

While the standard practice is to change memberships only once the current one ends, Work Nicer may be able to offer additional options, so it’s best to reach out to their staff directly.

For spontaneous collaboration and interaction, open desks provide an open and flexible environment. If you prefer a dedicated space with shared community elements, dedicated desks offer a great balance between personal space and interaction.
On the other hand, private offices are best suited for focused work and private interactions. They're ideal for solo workers as well as teams seeking a dedicated space, shielded from distractions.
Choosing the ideal coworking arrangement for you is about aligning your workspace with your work style, team dynamics, and project requirements.

Coworking spaces typically have limited storage options, most of which are reserved for members with dedicated desks or private offices. With that said, it’s best to contact the coworking operator directly via the form on the right side of the page to learn about available storage options.
