The upper floors are a unique workspace. The lower floors while feeling cramped, do have all amenities needed. There is parking available both in and outside the gated lot. Now for the cons. The hvac system is woefully inadequate for a building this size. Blistering hot in the summer months, and painfully cold in the winter. Yes luckily there is a fireplace. And bringing in bundles of wood was the only way to make a small part of the works space, tolerable in the winter. The gated lot is nice but gives a false sense of security. As building management was unable to advise me on how the damage to my car happened, despite the presence of cameras in the lot. There is an elevator, although it is non functional, so you will get your steps in. This is not a great place for a wheel chair, being pregnant, or have any mobility concerns. The building has a repeating infestation of small black / orange bugs that come back every year. The neighbourhood night market that sets up during summer months might be good for other businesses, but severely restricts access to and from our own. 2 star rating from me. The novelty of the layout is certainly unique among workspaces, and the props give the building character… but as far as a comfortable workspace goes… it’s I’ve had much better in much smaller spaces.

Most, if not all, amenities are available to you as a member, regardless of the type of membership. Some shared spaces, like the meeting rooms, need to be booked in advance and private offices are only available for those with a subscription. However, all the other areas, like the lounge, kitchen and breakout spaces, are usable by every member. All complimentary services are available and anything ancillary can be purchased or negotiated with Merlin Block.
