Spanning the 11th and 12th floors, the new coworking space will offer direct access to premium retail, dining, and transit options, along with views of Sydney Harbour and Hyde Park. The workplace\u2019s layout includes private offices and open-plan spaces, as well as quiet zones, communal areas and a retro-inspired bowling alley for socializing. <\/p>\n
\u201cSince day one, our approach has been member-first, and we believe a quality office space can inspire and encourage creativity and community<\/em>,\u201d said Cliff Ho, co-founder and CEO of The Commons. \u201cOur continued growth across Sydney speaks to the strength of this model and the evolving demand for workspaces that prioritise flexibility, amenity and connection.<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n Melbourne-based architecture and design studio DesignOffice planned the interior, preserving the building\u2019s original brickwork, heritage steel windows, exposed concrete and waffle ceilings. At the operator\u2019s request, it also added a bowling alley. <\/p>\n \u201cIntroducing a bowling alley is one of those ideas that\u2019s always felt distinctly \u2018Commons\u2019 \u2014 playful, social and a little unexpected,<\/em>\u201d Ho said. \u201cWe\u2019re thrilled to see it come to life at The Commons Castlereagh Street and we\u2019re confident it will become a much-loved feature among our members.<\/em>\u201d <\/p>\n Formerly known as David Jones Men\u2019s Store, 121 Castlereagh St. is a six-story, luxury, mixed-use development in Sydney\u2019s fashion district. It offers 11,500 square metres of premium-grade office space; a 6,200-square-metre extension of Westfield Sydney\u2019s luxury retail offering; a central atrium; and 98 apartments.<\/p>\n The announcement of The Commons\u2019 new space follows recent news of its future health clubs located in Richmond and South Yarra \u2014 two inner-city suburbs in Melbourne.
