British Land, one of the UK\u2019s largest real estate investment trusts, announced the opening of a new Storey flex space in May. The 35,000-square-foot flex office will be located on the seventh floor of the 12-storey 201 Bishopsgate tower near London\u2019s Liverpool Street Station. It\u2019s part of British Land\u2019s 32-acre Broadgate site, which houses tenants in the financial, legal, tech and media industries, in addition to a selection of retail stores and restaurants.<\/p>\n
Designed by architects at dMFK, the space comprises 12 office units and will also include meeting rooms, breakout areas, a lounge area, a wellness room and a 7,000-square-foot terrace. As part of the company\u2019s sustainability strategy, \u201cGreener Spaces,\u201d the new Storey location will also have a focus on sustainability and will be designed with a net-zero carbon footprint by 2030.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur office space and leases are flexible to customers\u2019 needs and can be designed around them,\u201d<\/em> said Becky Gardiner, head of Storey. \u201cWe can also support with optimizing each workspace through our partnerships with award-winning architects and designers. We\u2019re really looking forward to collaborating with customers and getting the new space open next spring.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n The addition of this new Storey flex space aligns with the surging trend among property firms. A recent Knight Frank survey revealed an overwhelming intention among operators to expand their flexible office footprints in London.<\/p>\n Storey is a flexible workspace provider operating a portfolio of 12 flexible workspaces across London. The company has experienced significant growth period, reporting a 19% year-over-year increase in occupancy in May, having welcomed 20 new tenants, and seen their existing customers increase their space usage.
