Following Workbar\u2019s growth in the greater Boston area, the coworking operator is planning to open a location in Framingham, MA, in June of this year. The new workspace will be located at 111 Speen St. in a building that was acquired for $13 million in April of 2022 by Paradigm Properties and North Colony Asset Management.<\/p>\n
Workbar had planned to expand its footprint in the MetroWest part of the Boston region because the area has witnessed significant growth in new apartment developments, as well as retail businesses. The operator\u2019s new coworking space will be its 11th<\/sup> in the country and eighth in the greater Boston area.<\/p>\n Sarah Travers, Workbar\u2019s CEO, said the following: \u201cAs one of the fastest-growing and most diverse cities in Massachusetts, we believe Framingham is the perfect choice for Workbar\u2019s 11th location. Following the outstanding success of our Workbar Needham location, we knew that we needed to make the MetroWest region our next priority.\u201d<\/p>\n Workbar has already\u00a0grown substantially this year, opening branches in different locations\u00a0and entering a new partnership. According to the Boston Business Journal<\/em>, the coworking business recently teamed up with Synergy Investments to add short-term lease space to 11 of the landlord\u2019s office buildings located in downtown Boston. Center Plaza, 10 Post Office Square and 10 Franklin St. are among the Synergy locations. Workbar also opened its 10th<\/sup> site in Quincy \u2014 a 21,000-square-foot space in a structure owned by Synergy at 100 Hancock St.<\/p>\n In September 2022, Workbar inaugurated a location in Woburn in Unicorn Park. The 22K SF was purchased by National Development.
